American Coach Rolls Out New Innovations at RV Industry Show in Louisville, KY

American Coach, the luxury coach division of Fleetwood RV, Inc., a leading producer of Class A and Class C recreational vehicles, unveiled key new innovations to its 2011 American Tradition, American Eagle and American Heritage luxury motor homes during RVIA's 48th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky. this morning.

The 2011 American Heritage 45BT can now add to its impressive list of features, which already includes and industry-leading 460 square feet of interior living space, dual sinks in the master bathroom and a revamped rear wardrobe with twice as much hanging space. The 2011 American Heritage also takes visual entertainment to a new whole level with 46-inch Sony® TVs in the bedroom and front overhead, as well as the recently added 40" Sony® mid-ship TV and entertainment center. Every television in American Heritage features LED technology which creates an unparalleled picture quality and provides customers with additional wireless capabilities. In addition, the American Heritage on display in Louisville includes all-new LED lighting in the ceiling package to drastically reduce amp draw and provide lights that will last for year without the need of a new bulb.

The 2011 American Eagle added a fourth model to its offering – a triple-slide, full-wall slide floor plan (45T). Loaded with all the luxurious amenities that are synonymous with the American Eagle line, one of the stand-out features in this new floor plan is the full-sized, walk-in rear wardrobe. This impressive wardrobe features enormous hanging space, a shoe rack, dresser and porcelain tile flooring. Adding even more spaciousness to this new floor plan is the bedroom's "mega master suite slide" that includes the bed and vanity and creates one of the largest rear bathrooms in the industry.

Not to be outdone, the 2011 American Tradition 45 Y – a 45-foot, quad-slide model with a "gourmet galley" – now features a brand-new L-sofa from Villa® in the living room, that helps create a more residential feel and adds more flexibility for seating positions.

Thanksgiving - One of The Most Traveled Holidays

There is a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and drivers can be thankful for ATTENTION ASSIST which helps assist with driver drowsiness from eating too much turkey. Thanksgiving begins the holiday travel season, and the number of people traveling over Thanksgiving is second only to the year-end holidays, according to AAA. Thanksgiving travel is expected to be up this year, thanks to a growing sense among consumers that the world's economic problems are behind us.

More Than 80 Percent Will Travel by Car

Most Thanksgiving travelers - more than 80 percent - will go by car, and friends and relatives are likely to share concerns about holiday travel safety. In recent times, automotive travelers and their families have had a lot to be thankful for, especially in terms of an abundance of technological features designed to help keep them safe throughout the trip.

2011 Toyota Corolla Debuts at LA Auto Show

Making its debut at the Los Angeles Auto show tomorrow, the 2011 Toyota Corolla – the best selling subcompact in America – will feature new front and rear exterior styling, new interior design changes, Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan, standard Smart Stop Technology, and two new colors. With a compelling combination of responsive, fun-to-drive performance, proven value and significant safety credentials, more than 30 million Corollas have been sold worldwide since 1966. The 2011 Corolla will go in sale in December.

The 2011 Corolla continues to offer Toyota's Star Safety System™ standard, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the standard Smart Stop Technology brake-override system.

Performance and Efficiency

The 2011 Corolla is available in three grades: the base-model Corolla, LE, and S. All models are equipped with the 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, which produces 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) controls valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts to help optimize performance and fuel economy. Internal components are optimized to reduce friction.

The 1.8-liter engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) on the base Corolla, while the LE model features the four-speed automatic standard. The four-speed automatic uses a torque converter with flex lockup for increased fuel efficiency, as well as uphill/downhill shift control. For a more engaging driving experience, the driver can shift the four-speed automatic manually by moving the shift lever to the left from its "D" position into the "S" position, then pushing forward for upshifts and back for downshifts. An indicator inside the combination gauge shows the gear selected. The 1.8-liter engine on the Corolla S transmits power through the five-speed manual transmission or the four-speed automatic.

The 1.8-liter engine has earned an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway with the five-speed manual transmission, and 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the four-speed automatic transmission.

LA Auto Show Presents More Than 50 Electric, Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicles

With a continued focus on economic and environmental concerns, manufacturers are increasingly focused on high-mileage and low emission vehicles. The 2010 LA Auto Show will feature more than 50 electric, hydrogen fuel-cell electric, hybrid, clean diesel and natural gas vehicles, all providing viable solutions for cleaner transportation.

This year's show also marks the historic arrival of the modern electric car era. After years of anticipation, consumers can finally own mass-produced electric vehicles. The first two highly anticipated vehicles to kick-off this modern era of electric transportation include Chevrolet's range extended electric Volt and Nissan's battery electric LEAF. A dozen more electric drive vehicles will be featured at the show. More than half of the production vehicles on display will be for sale in the coming year, and others are forward looking concepts that will map out how electric transportation will progress in the future.

Initial Global Test Drive of Next-Generation Ford Focus

Ford has selected the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), near Madrid, as the home base for the Focus Global Test Drive. An aeronautical research facility, INTA and its varied surfaces make an ideal location for dynamic driving events as participants take on the unique role of test drivers, before the new Focus reaches the showroom.

"Based on what we have learned with the Fiesta Movement and other social media launch efforts, we chose this unique location to give consumers and bloggers a very special experience," said Jim Farley, group vice president of Global Marketing, Sales & Service. "Our guests get a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience behind the wheel of the all-new Focus, within a world-class proving ground facility."

INTA offers more than 10 surface areas, allowing participants to enjoy a broad range of testing exercises and experiences.

At the three-day event, Feb. 18-20, 2011, consumers and bloggers will be able to experience the Ford Focus in a unique new manner. Each challenge and course will highlight the driving dynamics and technologies in the vehicle. And throughout the entire event, local charities will benefit.
